Parte con lo slogan del nuovo presidente degli Stati Uniti il nuovo post.
In questo giorno, speriamo, importante per la storia di tutti...io mi sento una sostenitrice di Obama, nonostante non sia il mio presidente...ma ufficialmente da oggi governerà l'America!
America, che è considerata da molti il paese più potente. Che sia un dato di fatto o una conseguenza di quello che la gente dice, l'America è uno degli stati più potenti del mondo. E tutti andiamo in conseguenza di ciò che succede dall'altra parte dell'oceano.
Per quello che è successo negli ultimi anni, purtroppo...non criticherò Bush o i suoi predecessori (parecchio guerrafondai) ma spererò in quella che dicono, sarà una nuova era.
Non dobbiamo pensarla così solo perchè è stato eletto il primo presidente afro-americano di tutta la storia; dobbiamo crederci per quello che dice e che spera...le sue parole hanno incantato, hanno illuminato e hanno dato la speranza a tanta gente. Gente che fa fatica ad andare avanti, gente che ha bisogno di certezze e non solo di parole campate in aria, gente che non ce la fa più a tirare la cinghia. E'un periodo molto delicato e lo sarà ancora per parecchio tempo, una crisi come questa non si risolve con uno schiocco delle dita. Una persona come Obama ha portato tanta speranza e si spera che riesca a lavorare in pace per far diventare realtà tutto quello che ha detto.
Ho anche la convinzione che non abbia detto certe cose solo per avere il favore della gente; ma che le abbia dette perchè ci credeva davvero! E'una cosa molto difficile da trovare in una persona, soprattutto in un politico.

We have been told we cannot do this by a chorus of cynics...they will only grow louder and more dissonant ........... We've been asked to pause for a reality check. We've been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope.

But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope.

Now the hopes of the little girl who goes to a crumbling school in Dillon are the same as the dreams of the boy who learns on the streets of LA; we will remember that there is something happening in America; that we are not as divided as our politics suggests; that we are one people; we are one nation; and together, we will begin the next great chapter in the American story with three words that will ring from coast to coast; from sea to shining sea --

Yes. We. Can.
